# Getting started

Bitebook brings reservations, queues, and venue operations into one system. Start with your role.

## Three roles

| Role | What you can do |
|---|---|
| Guest | Browse venues, book a table, join a queue, view confirmations and rewards |
| Venue staff | Manage bookings and queue, check guests in, redeem rewards, configure the venue |
| Owner / admin | Manage the organization and venues, invite staff, review usage, redeem plans |

> **One account, different permissions**
>
> Staff and owners still use a normal user account. Access to the admin area depends on whether the account has `venue:manage` permission for that venue.

## Shortest path

1. **Guests: make a booking**

Open the venue link, choose date, time, and party size, then save the confirmation link or check-in QR code.
   Read [Reservations](/en/reservations/).
2. **Staff: open the admin area**

Sign in at `/admin`, choose a venue, then open Booking Management or Queue Management.
   Read [Admin](/en/admin/).
3. **Owners: finish the base setup**

Configure rounds, areas, tables, and regular schedules before inviting staff and sharing public links.

## Explore

- **Reservation flow** — Create, confirm, and cancel bookings, plus table party invites.
- **Queue flow** — Join by QR code, track progress, and handle no-shows.
- **Admin screens** — The screens venue teams use every day.
